Cora Culottes: New Pattern Release

Made For Mermaids newest pattern just released, the Cora Culottes! These super adorable shorts come with a variety of inseams from 4 inches (which are the ones I made up during testing) up to seventeen inches and give you the look of a full skirt with the comfort (and anti-chafing amazingness) of a pair of shorts. They are also super comfy, breezy, and endlessly versatile!

My version is made out of a super thin athletic-type ponte from fabric mart that I have had in my stash for quite a while and I am in love with the dramatic drape it gave my shorts. Making the culottes out of DBP, ITY, or a similar thin and very drapey fabric would give a much softer effect but with shorts like these I wanted to make a statement and a statement is what I got! What is extra special about this pattern, however, is that it is actually being sold as part of a fundraiser for victims of Hurricane Harvey. For the next couple of days, all proceeds from the sale of this new pattern (which is being sold for only $3) will be donated to the rescue and recovery efforts that are still going on in the aftermath of the hurricane/tropical storm. A cute pattern for a good cause!

I am also wearing: a M4M Mama Ava long sleeve, scoop neck tee
